I'm 80, I'm Not Satisfied, and That's OK!
Pat was thinking about her GenX kids as she watched BOOM X. What struck her in particular was the quote at the end, from modern dance pioneer Martha Graham. The quote is pulled from a letter Graham wrote to an artist friend called "Keep the Channel Open", and it reads: "[There is] no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others." Pat reflects on the BOOM X idea of bridging generations, and that it's OK not to be satisfied. She's 80 years old now, and says, "I'm not satisfied with things, and [the quote] gave me permission to think, that's OK! I'm still curious, I still want to find out stuff, and I still want to grow in different ways." Thanks for sharing, Pat.
