Growing up Analog in the Digital Era of Millennials
STORY BY: Hayden Maines
YEAR: 2004
LOCATION: Gillam, MB
Hayden was raised by his grandparents in a small community called Gillam in the north of Manitoba. (Gillam is a town on the Nelson River, situated between Thompson and Churchill on the Hudson Bay Railway line.) There was no cell service there, so he lived what he now calls "a very analog lifestyle. I still remember the home phone number up there, going to a friend's place, calling and leaving a message on the answering machine, despite growing up in the full Millennial digital era." Thanks for sharing, Hayden.
