Long John Baldry, The King of Rock and Roll
STORY BY: Bob Rowe
YEAR: 1973
LOCATION: New Mexico, USA
Bob tells a story from the 1970s, when he was going to University. One winter, he drove from Canada to New Mexico to the sounds of Long John Baldry, who he describes as "The King of Rock and Roll". Bob loves how BOOM X builds connections, and it seems to him that the Brits" were instrumental in changing the way that we do music in North American. One of those leading influences was Long John Baldry, a.k.a. John William Baldry, who moved to Canada in the late 1970s, and stayed here until his death. Thanks for sharing, Bob!
