Of Studio 54, Disco, Benny & The Jets, and The Winnipeg Jets

STORY BY: John Tyrrell
YEAR: 1978
LOCATION: Winnipeg, MB

John shares a story about his formative years as a GenXer in Winnipeg. He worked in the mayor's office, and once went down to New York City. There, he was able to hang out at the world-famous discotheque Studio 54, at the height of disco in the 1970s. He was happy that BOOM X touched on disco's connection to the big movements of the time: civil rights, gay rights, and women's rights. He also loved Elton John's song Benny & The Jets, and watching the Jets - the Winnipeg Jets! Thanks for sharing, John.
