Working as a Kid Defined My Generation

STORY BY: Abagail Vanmerlin
YEAR: 1984
LOCATION: rural Alberta

Abagail was born in 1984 on a farm in small-town Alberta. She thinks that what defines her generation - from a small town perspective - is that she worked as a kid. She'd wake up every day before school to pick eggs, and then, as she showered and got ready for the school bus, she remembers thinking, "was everyone else working?" And apparently they were, at least in small town Alberta! Thanks for sharing, Abagail.
