Hot-wiring the TV to Watch The Three Stooges

In 1956, at the age of 8, Erich emigrated to Canada from Germany with his little brother. Their father had fought in World War 2, and didn’t want his boys to be drafted. In Canada, after several years, they broke the family budget and bought an Admiral television set. Erich remembers helping his father carry it home to surprise his mother, and all the hours he spent illicitly watching cartoons. His favourite show - one that he was forbidden to watch - was “The Three Stooges”. He had found a way of hot-wiring the set, even though his father had put a little lock on it.
