A Westjet Employee Checks in A War Bride

STORY BY: Pauline B.
YEAR: 1942
LOCATION: Calgary, AB

Pauline is a Westjet employee who once checked in a guest flying to Halifax, going for a 70-year reunion as a “war bride”. Between 1942 and 1947, most of the 48,000 young women who had married Canadian servicemen (and their 22,000 children) were brought to Canada, and dubbed “war brides”. This woman shared her story with Pauline, and we thank Pauline for now sharing it with us.
