Bobby Vee’s Producer Talks About The Day The Music Died

STORY BY: Mark Q
YEAR: 1959
LOCATION: Fargo, Minnesota

Mark is a music producer from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and he has a connection to “The Day The Music Died”, having produced Bobby Vee’s latest album. On February 3rd, 1959, musicians Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper infamously died in a plane crash in Iowa. See, a future teen idol, was only 15 at the time, but had the unenviable task of forming a band to replace Holly and the others in the next city on tour, Fargo, MN. “The show must go on!” So he and his brother created a band, called it The Shadows, and went onstage and into history. Thanks for sharing, Mark.
