Meeting Pierre Laporte’s Daughter

STORY BY: Bev Q
YEAR: 1970
LOCATION: Montreal, QC

Bev tells us how she lived in Calgary during the F.L.Q. crisis in October of 1970, witnessing tanks rolling along Stephen Avenue. She later met the daughter of Pierre Laporte, the Deputy Minister of Quebec who was kidnapped and assassinated by the F.L.Q. (Front de Libération du Québec). Her last name is now Aust, and she still lives in Montreal, not far from where Bev’s daughter lived at that time. Thanks for sharing, Bev.
