From Trudeaumania to Conservative

STORY BY: Doug Q
YEAR: 1968
LOCATION: Winnipeg, MB

In University, Doug was fully swept up by "Trudeamania", and was almost convinced the new Prime Minister was a god. However, after Trudeau's election in 1968, Doug blamed him for "getting split up by multiculturalism." He felt that the nationalism that grown from the unveiling of the new Canadian flag in 1965 all the way to Expo 67, was slowly dissolving towards separatism, distinct regions and distinct cultures. Thanks for sharing, Doug.
