Drugs, Dr. Spock and other Boomer Influences

STORY BY: Steve Moscovitch
YEAR: 1968
LOCATION: Winnipeg, MB

Steve remembers talking with other Winnipeg baby boomers in 1967, feeling that they were above history, and that "we were going to make the world a different place." After seeing BOOM, he realizes that there were many influences leading to the idealism of the time, most notably drugs and Dr. Spock. After the King and Kennedy assassinations in 1968, however, much of that idealism crashed back down to Earth. Thanks for sharing, Steve.
