What to Do When an H-Bomb Drops on Winnipeg
STORY BY: Dr. John Kos
YEAR: 1962
LOCATION: Winnipeg, MB
In 1962, John worked for Winnipeg's Emergency Measures Organization at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis. They were trained to help Winnipegers evacuate the city efficiently, in case an H-bomb were dropped on the downtown core. Taking into consideration the prevailing winds, they would advise people to jump in their cars with their families, and drive Northwest of the city. Thanks for sharing, John.
