Not Just Soldiers' Lives Were Changed by Vietnam
STORY BY: Ronald Pomerance
YEAR: 1968
LOCATION: Plattsburgh, NY
Ron was born in April 1945 in Plattsburgh, NY. Although he didn't fight in the Vietnam War, he still feels like "a veteran of sorts". At the time of the Tet Offensive in February, 1968, he was enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Virginia, majoring in diplomatic history. A professor of his spoke out against the War, just as Ron was at the age where we was eligible to be drafted, and many of his friends were dying overseas. Although he never went over, the Vietnam profoundly affected his life - as it did so many others. Thanks for sharing, Ron.
