They Shoot The President and Raise the Price of Popsicles
STORY BY: Bronia Zaks
YEAR: 1963
LOCATION: Walbrzych, Poland
Bronia was born in Poland in 1954, and came to Canada when she was 6 years old. She knew that the price of popsicles was 5 cents, but didn't know that Canada and the United States were two different countries. In 1963, the day Kennedy was shot, the price of popsicles went up to 6 cents. She remembers thinking, "They shoot the President, and raise the price of popsicles… What a thing!" Thanks for sharing, Bronia.
