A Journey from Concentration Camps to Canada

Andrea was born in 1944, while her family was in the refugee camps in Steinach am Brenner, Germany. They were trying to flee the war and communism, and ended up as sponsored immigrants in Belgium, then in the Dominican Republic, and finally in Canada in 1953. She remembers her parents, having lived through such harsh conditions, always stocking fat, rice, flour and oil in case of a communist attack. Thanks for sharing, Andrea.
