Goodbye USA, Hello Canada

Ruth was born in the Unites States, but moved to Canada in the 1960s. She remembers how the Russians and Americans were nose-to-nose during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October 1962. She was terrified about how close they came to a nuclear war and "the end of the world". When she and her husband decided to demonstrate with a group of 18 friends, they realized that no one was in the streets because of a big college football game. Deciding that they had had enough, they moved to Canada. Thanks for sharing, Ruth.
