Lillian was born in 1946, a Polish Russian Jew. She got out of suburbia and moved to Toronto, living in Yorkville and dancing with Toronto Dance Theatre. In 1970, she moved to the Yukon so she could ride horses, helped by her friend Art Penner. Art said to her: "Lillian, you wanna ride horses? Get on that horse and stay on!"
