John was born in England in 1935, and remembers the "Blitz" during World War 2. Last year, he and his wife visited France and Germany, and he visited the courthouse where the Nuremberg Trials took place in 1946. He had only recently seen the film about the trials, starring Burt Lancaster and Spencer Tracy, and was sitting in the very chairs where the accused Nazi leaders were sentenced to death. He then went to the back of the courthouse where the hangings took place, and noticed that the ropes and gallows were still there. Thanks for sharing, John.
